When We Consider Medication
Medication may be considered when symptoms are interfering with school, home life, relationships, sleep, emotional regulation, or daily functioning.

- Co-occurring concerns after careful assessment, rule-outs, and diagnostic formulation
Safety & Monitoring
Medication management includes careful education, measurable treatment targets, and ongoing safety monitoring.
- Informed consent with review of benefits, risks, alternatives, and possible side effects
- Conservative titration with measurable goals for attention, mood, sleep, behavior, or school function
- Vital signs, growth, sleep, appetite, mood, and side effects reviewed as clinically indicated
- ECG, labs, pediatrician coordination, or specialty collaboration when clinically appropriate

When medication is appropriate, we select options based on the child or young adult’s symptoms, medical history, co-occurring conditions, response patterns, family preferences, and daily life demands.
Each visit includes education for families and patients — how the medication works, expected benefits, possible side effects, what to monitor, and when to reach out.
We track response over time, adjust the dose or medication when needed, and coordinate with schools, pediatricians, therapists, or college support teams when clinically appropriate and authorized.
