Compassionate, evidence-based care for anxiety and mood disorders — empowering children, teens, and young adults.

Anxiety Treatment

Personalized, evidence-based care for generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, and school or performance stress.

Anxiety can disrupt sleep, focus, relationships, and daily routines. At SHIELD Psychiatry, we deliver individualized care grounded in evidence—comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, targeted medication management when appropriate, and skills-based therapy.

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), exposure-informed strategies, coaching for executive function, and supportive counseling, we help youth learn to identify triggers, regulate emotions, and build durable coping skills. Telehealth makes expert care convenient and private for families across Florida.

Depression & Mood Treatment

Compassionate, measurement-guided care for depressive disorders, persistent low mood, and mood instability.

Depression and mood symptoms can affect energy, motivation, school and work performance, and relationships. At SHIELD Psychiatry, we combine thorough psychiatric assessment, collaborative medication management when indicated, and skills-based therapy to restore functioning and hope.

Treatment integrates CBT for depression (behavioral activation, cognitive restructuring), sleep optimization (CBT-I), routine building, and parent or partner involvement when helpful. We track outcomes to fine-tune care and support durable recovery.

OCD Treatment

Evidence-based care for obsessions and compulsions—centered on ERP, CBT, family support, and measurement-guided medication when needed.

Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can consume time and create distress for youth and young adults. At SHIELD Psychiatry, treatment is built on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—the gold-standard behavioral therapy—combined with targeted CBT skills and, when indicated, collaborative medication management (e.g., SSRI options) to reduce symptom intensity and support skill acquisition.

Care is developmentally tailored, stigma-free, and family-inclusive. We reduce family accommodation (well-intended behaviors that can inadvertently sustain OCD), coordinate with schools, and use structured measures (e.g., CY-BOCS/Y-BOCS) to track progress. Telehealth delivery keeps sessions accessible and consistent across home and campus.
