Dr. Marie Akers is the founder and medical director of SHIELD Psychiatry PLLC, a concierge telepsychiatry practice dedicated to protecting and empowering young minds across Florida.
Triple board-certified in psychiatry and pediatric practice, Dr. Akers brings over 20 years of experience spanning neurology, developmental pediatrics, and behavioral health. Haitian-born and raised in the U.S., she draws on her cultural roots and faith to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care for children, teens, and young adults.
Her clinical expertise includes ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, and sleep disorders. She integrates psychopharmacology, CBT, DBT-informed therapy, and lifestyle wellness to foster resilience and sustainable emotional growth for families.
