Mental Health Resources Outside Florida
Thank you for reaching out to SHIELD Psychiatry. We are licensed to provide care only when the patient is physically located in Florida at the time of the appointment. Because the patient will be outside Florida, we are unable to move forward with this prescreener.
This is a professional licensing requirement, not a decision about your family or the seriousness of the concerns described. During a telehealth appointment, the clinician must be authorized to practice in the state where the patient is physically located.
⚠️ If This Is an Emergency
If there is immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. It is free and available 24 hours a day throughout the United States. A parent, caregiver, family member, or other concerned person may call. You may also chat with the 988 Lifeline .
Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 .
The Trevor Project for LGBTQ+ young people: Call 1-866-488-7386 or text START to 678-678 .
